Young Jazz Artist Competition

Description: In recent years, The Trinity Jazz Festival has featured performances by number of the prominent Middle and High School Jazz Ensembles in the Greater Houston Area. This year, in an effort to expose and discover a broader base of young people who are studying and performing jazz, the Festival is hosting a solo competition. Four (4) performers will be chosen, two of which will represent each category of Middle School and High School. The competition is open to all instrumentalists and vocal musicians between 12-19 years of age. Two performers will appear, with a house rhythm section, each night of the festival as the opening act of that evening.
